I am Samantha VonGunden, the owner of Blooms with Joy. I began this venture after my husband, Allen, convinced me to go all in.
My late Grandmother, Joy, is who I dedicate this all to. Grandma Joy taught me all that I know about flowers and gardening. We would go to a local greenhouse & nursery together a few times during the year and always once on Mother's Day. We spent countless hours in the garden and yard together pulling weeds, planting flowers, fertilizing, moving things here and there, and of course just spending quality time together. Over winter I would hang out in her dining room with her going through all of the bulb catalogs and planning what we would do the next spring. These are memories that I hold very close to my heart.
As a young girl I had dreamed of owning my own greenhouse or nursery. Now that I am an adult and mother, my visions have changed a bit. Starting a cut flower farm is an adaptation of my dream that serves more than one purpose. Not only am I able to hang amongst the flowers, but I am also able to teach my children all that my Grandma Joy taught me, while also providing beautiful locally grown blooms to our community.
